Google Ads (conversion tracking and remarketing)

We use the Google Ads service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, to promote our products on external websites, to display advertisements that match your interests and to measure the success of our ads.

This means that Google stores a cookie on your end device whenever you access our website via an advertisement. This makes it possible to measure the advertisements displayed and the user clicks. The cookie is used to store information such as the number of page views, opt-out information, etc. The information stored in the cookie shows that you clicked on an advertisement and were redirected to the relevant page. Each Google Ads customer is assigned a different cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked through the websites of AdWords customers. We ourselves do not collect or process any personal data in connection with the advertising measures referred to above. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. These evaluations allow us to identify which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data resulting from the use of the advertisements. In particular, we cannot identify the users on the basis of this information.

In addition, the remarketing function allows visitors to our website to be shown corresponding ads on other websites in the Google advertising network. This involves analyzing the behavior of visitors to our website (e.g. which products were viewed on our website) using log files and cookies in order to allow targeted advertising to be displayed.

Information on the name, purpose, storage duration and type of cookies can be found in our cookie banner under the “Marketing” category.

Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with the Google server. We have no control over the scope and further use of the data collected by Google using this tool, meaning that the information provided is based on the information currently known to us: The use of Google Ads Conversion means that Google is informed that you have accessed the relevant part of our website or clicked on one of our advertisements. If you have registered for a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google/have not logged in, it is possible that the provider will still be able to identify and store your IP address.

The legal basis for the processing of your data is Article 6 (1a) GDPR.

You can revoke your consent in various ways:

  1. by configuring your browser software settings accordingly. In particular, the suppression of third-party cookies means that you will not receive any advertisements from third-party providers;
  2. by disabling cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain "www.googleadservices.com", https://www.google.de/settings/ads, although this setting will be cleared when you delete your cookies;
  3. by deactivating the interest-based ads of the providers that are part of the "About Ads" self-regulation campaign via the link http://www.aboutads.info/choices, although this setting will be cleared when you delete your cookies;
  4. by permanently deactivating the setting in your Firefox, Internet Explorer or Google Chrome browser via the link http://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. We would like to remind you that you may not be able to use all of the functions of our website in such cases.

Embedded content from third parties (e.g. Google Maps, YouTube, etc.)

If third-party content such as Google Maps or YouTube is displayed on our websites, the transmission of your IP address and the content displayed under "Logfiles" to the third-party provider is required to make this content available and to display it in your browser. This allows us to ensure that we can present our website in an attractive manner.

The legal basis for processing is Article 6(1) sentence 1f GDPR.  We cannot exert any influence over data processing by the third-party provider. If you are logged in with your user account for the third-party provider, the third-party provider can assign your user behavior to your user account. The third-party provider may store your data as user profiles and use it for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or to ensure user-oriented website design. You must address any objections to the creation of these user profiles to the third-party provider.

Further information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by the third-party provider can be found in the latter’s data privacy statement.
